About Spark BC

Spark BC Youth Sports Society exists to ensure that no child in BC is kept off the field by the circumstances of their life. We remove barriers so kids can access sport, mentorship, and community.

Our story

Fraser Valley Flag Football was founded in Abbotsford in the early 2000s by a longtime community member who built it as an act of service. After COVID, the league was passed to a new generation of community volunteers, who took over in Spring 2022 and continued building around fun, belonging, and access.

In 2022, the program served about 120 kids and launched the first fall season in league history. By Spring 2026, it had grown to 510 players across Abbotsford and Langley, and Spark BC was incorporated in June 2026 to support that work for the long term.
